CHIVAY COUNTRY COTTAGES are ensconced on sprawling grounds in the remote, forgotten town of Rooiberg (Red Mountain) in Limpopo Province.

We have taken every care and attention to detail in creating a luxurious self-catering retreat for our guests to relax and enjoy where privacy is key. Shanghai Silk House & Benin Boudoir are enclosed separately, each with their own splash pool and decorated in their own unique style with high end finishes.

Surrounded by bushveld that is teaming with birdlife, it truly is a bird watchers paradise. Take a leisurely stroll on the premises with its French themed Herb Garden, Petanque Court and potting shed, or relax and enjoy the poolside.

The allure of Rooiberg as a quaint little town retains its peace and quiet – with no traffic lights and your only notable traffic congestion being a few cows, goats, sheep and donkeys on their walk-a-bout.

About Us

Benin Boudoir

Benin Boudoir combines rich greys & earthy tones with bespoke antiques to create a unique “Out of Africa” appeal. The veranda of this cosy self-catering suite has an intimate dining and seating area enclosed with shutters, which can be opened for easy indoor or outdoor living.

Leading into the suite from the veranda is a living area with its sumptuous sofa, French Style fireplace & a separate fully equipped kitchen. An adjoining bedroom boasts an extra length king bed with full en-suite bathroom with shower.

The enclosed private walled courtyard with splash pool & barbeque completes this unique space.

Please note that children cannot be accommodated

in this suite.

Shanghai Silk House is an eclectic fusion of the Old Orient with a touch of Africa.

Decorated in luxurious shades of red, this spacious open plan style, self catering suite blends the living and sleeping areas into one cohesive space. It features a large King size extra length bed, opulent sofa, and a beautiful fireplace for those chilly winter nights. A choice of two

en-suite bathrooms service the suite & a fully equipped kitchen with dining nook flows from the living area.

Glass doors open onto a private walled courtyard with a splash pool & barbeque. A small laundrette including a washing machine and tumble dryer is also available.

Please note that children cannot be accommodated

in this suite.
